Review on Spedtees Candle Dye - High-Quality Liquid Candle Dye Kit with 20 Vibrant Colors for DIY Candle Making Supplies by Heather Shaw

This product is clearly identified as a polymeric pigment.

Candle Dye is specially made from a colored dye that reduces the chance of the wicks clogging. When you light candles, impurities or molecules can dampen the flame and eventually cause a tunnel effect. A tunnel or weak flame will cause the candle to burn out prematurely. When I first opened the product I was shocked and thought they sent the wrong product. I have a lot of resin pigment and don't need it. I was hoping to find a new source of excellent wax color. Then I looked at the barcode label. This is the right product. I offer a photo. The quality of the candle is of great importance, and the goal is a long, strong flame that allows the candle to burn fully and safely. This product is not made for candles and after searching the internet I'm not sure if I can use it to make candles that I will offer to others as a gift or a product that people will pay for. I prepared several small 4 ounce jars of different colors. Some burn better than others. The color of the dye in soy wax is usually pastel. Intense colors when using Deep Color dyes show up quite well in paraffin but not in soy. I use a combination of coconut wax and soy. The mixture burns very well and usually provides a reliable flame. These colors work well. They are very light. I had to add 7 to 9 drops to each candle to get the colors shown in the photos. They're not bad, just not as bright as advertised. Reasonable expectations are important, so I let the candles burn until the flame began to sink and the wax showed signs of tunneling. This was between 10 and 15 hours. A candle, blue, the color of the peacock, burned out by itself. Pink and orange are very small flames that don't really give off enough light. I think maybe they could work for show candles that shouldn't be burned, or used in paraffin with a working wick. There may be a common large wick that absorbs these pigments, but I think it's better to use them for their intended purpose. Use resin and purchase candle dye from a reputable candle store. I give 3 stars for this product. I offer photographs.
