Inconsistent candle making

Slightly disappointed. I ordered the same wicks in November and they were great! Just ordered and they are different. The real wick looks thinner and almost uncovered with wax like the first batch I bought (first one on the left in the picture, last purchased wicks on the right).

Candle Delight

Bought as a gift for a candle mother. She loves how easy they are to use and that the length is great as she can cut them down depending on the size of the candle. She says they burn easily with no problems. Now these are the only wicks she will use. Considering she's a bit of a hippie and has been making candles for over 50 years, that's the best compliment she can give. 5 STARS. Gosh, add in some hippie stars - this is a great product.

Works great with beeswax!

I read about this brand in an article about which wicks are better to use with beeswax candles and the link took me to the theses! I like you very much! They are coated with beeswax and the hemp material that makes up the wicks burns slowly and gives off beautiful flames. I was able to achieve a full melt puddle in an 8 ounce candle with 2 wicks (I haven't tested this with a single wick) and it's not easy to work with beeswax with essential oil candles! This is a great product!

Pros
  • is clear, even the old
Cons
  • was damaged

These wicks will burn out too quickly and cause tunneling!

I put 2 wicks in each of the 16 circular candles. Cups are 2 3/4 inches wide. The wick will either burn out in a wax puddle or just tunnel and melt a small area around it. 1/2 inch wide but not for anything bigger. I waited too long before trying to light one of my candles and now the return window is closed. I advise people not to waste their time and money on these wicks.

They burn hard and thick

I've been using them to make candles for a number of years. Not sure what has changed, but the last batch I bought burns differently than I've bought in the past. Also wanted to point out that these lumps. I think it's because they're covered in wax, but when I blow out my candles, the flame won't die. I often have to blow very hard and it's scary because I'm afraid a piece of the wick will come loose and burn my face. For some reason they are used for better quality. Maybe I just received a…

Long, Thick and Waxy Organic Hemp Wicks

These organic hemp wicks are thick, long and very waxy. They are completely natural, burn evenly for a long time. They are good quality and perfect for making candles. I've used them to make various soy candles and have had no problems with them. My final grave candles contain rose and pink Himalayan salt, rose petal powder, rosehip powder, essential oils and winter rose mica. The wick burned cleanly with no smoke or soot. I touched a candle and the wick just fell off leaving only a black…

Pros
  • Don't waste too much time
Cons
  • Approximately

First of all I would like to say that these wicks are excellent in every way. I'm only giving them 4 stars because they have a few issues. Now if you're making parasoy, soy, or paraffin candles, these wicks will probably work best. I make candles without wax so I don't expect them to work the same way. However, I do notice that after about 4 hours of burning, the wick seems to separate, creating a sort of twin flame. Otherwise, a coating is normal for a hemp wick, and milder waxes tend to…

Pros
  • Very good value for money
Cons
  • Unbelievable price

I prefer hemp wicks to everything else

Hemp wicks offer many advantages over cotton wicks. Without getting into the nasty side of things, hemp is far more environmentally friendly to harvest than cotton, if that matters to you. 1 hectare of hemp can produce up to 2-3 hectares of cotton, hemp requires less water and less fertilizer. Finally, it does not require herbicides or pesticides. If these things don't bother you, hemp burns slower than cotton in relation to the actual candle you attach it to, it burns hotter, and it's stiffer…

I love these organic hemp wicks!

I am very happy with these wicks! I have found them to be perfect for my 4 oz 2 inch candles. You can't just put any wick in any candle. If you use a wick that is too small, your candle will tunnel (only burn in the center around the wick). And if you choose a wick that's too big, you'll end up with a big, flickering flame that will burn your candle too quickly! I used a mixture of soy and beeswax and scented my candles with essential oils. I made some lemon basil candles. Mine burned…
