No instructions, can't get it to work!

Was very happy when they arrived, connected to my computer and charged. Then I tried using them with my computer, then with my phone, no they don't work. I could have done something wrong but I wouldn't know as there are no instructions on/in the box. Will I have to send it back if I can't get it to work :(
