Cartridge cap kept my 8 year old Tetras alive with ammonia levels above 8.0ppm for over two years. I finally gave up trying to remove the ammonia with water changes and everything else. Put the fish in a new smaller aquarium that I've been working in without fish for over a month and have actually worked on a bike. I bought a new large tank and my 8+ year old tetras are back home and looking really good. The API launch ritual is a different story. this product didn't work for me. I had to run my new large tank without fish for a month to get the best cycle. I had 2 new minos that died when placed in a new 3 day old tank with initiation rite.
