A reliable alternative to Purr&Simple

In my seemingly never-ending search for an affordable (not necessarily cheap) eco-friendly, clumping, dust-free litter, I've tried several brands. My favorite was Purr&Simple Filler, but shortly after I started buying it, the product was discontinued and I later discovered that the company had gone out of business. The brand was bought by another company and is now being sold by PetCo, but costs more than before. So I bought several brands and tried to find the one I liked best until I found a natural wonder. I have used other products from this company so I decided to give it a try. At first I was afraid that the pine smell, which is somewhat pleasant for humans, would repel my cats and they would not want to use it. However, this was not a problem at all. They immediately picked up the litter. It doesn't get dirty which is a HUGE plus. It absorbs odors fairly well if you clean it regularly. Because it clumps and doesn't stick to the sides of the litter box, I've found this litter to last much longer than some of the previous brands I've tried. Adhesive performance is not as good as I would like. be. Clumps fall apart easily if you nudge them the wrong way with a dustpan (which is easy to do when you're trying to sift through the junk to find all the buried "treasures"). However, it's a small price to pay for a brand of affordable, durable, eco-friendly bedding that holds odors and doesn't raise dust. If you're worried about tracking, it's tracked like any other filler (unless it's pellets). Basically I solved this problem by putting a ribbed mat under the tray and using a closed tray. This reduces the stains significantly and all I do is clean the mat every time I remove the tray. All in all, I can keep this up for a while. Definitely a good second place behind Purr&Simple and my cats haven't complained yet!
