Review on Enhance Your Network Connectivity with Gofanco Extender Remote Ethernet HDBitTPRO by Virgilio Patton

Doesn't work across multiple switches (looks good with none or none)

For my particular setup, I needed this HDMI-over-Ethernet to traverse at least two switches. My basement is finished and I don't want to tear down the drywall. I have a main 16 port gigabit switch next to my router and I've run ethernet cables to each room but only to one line. If I have multiple devices that require Ethernet in the same location, I use small 8-port Gigabit switches. In my testing, the gofanco HDMI Over IP Extender worked flawlessly over a direct Ethernet connection and over a single switch (with some expected audio latency). I couldn't get it to work through two or three switches. There will be an error clipping video and audio every few seconds. Gofanco connected to my switches at 10/100 bit, so it's very frustrating that it couldn't find enough bandwidth across multiple gigabit switches to reach the receiver on the other end with a quality signal.

Pros
  • ✔ NETWORK DISTRIBUTION - Connect up to 30 receivers to one transmitter. One-to-one direct connect, one-to-many configuration via 1) unmanaged/dedicated gigabit switches, 2) intelligent gigabit switches with VLAN to separate video traffic from rest of LAN. Many-to-many configuration is also supported through VLAN settings. Note that each VLAN can only support 1 transmitter (TX). We recommend gofanco 24-Port Ethernet Video Switch (EthSwitch24P-2, B085DD9GG4); Don't use home routers for this
Cons
  • Not bad, but...
