Good upgrade for my UV5RA. I have Yaesu permanently installed in my truck, but I use the UV5RA as a mobile/handheld device. If I connect it to an external antenna, I really need an external microphone to use it. This works really well and the clip on the back rotates to attach almost anywhere. The only problem is that there is no possibility to attach a microphone in the car. So I removed the wire from half of the small binder clip and the pins went straight into the spring for the mic clip. Now I have a coat hanger and just attach it to a sticky plastic hook on the dashboard. A simple modification, but made it more convenient to store in the car.
