I've been using this setup for about 6 months and love it. I had no problems with that. If you're in law enforcement, this is a great option. CONS: - There is no red "panic button" on the microphone like the original handheld microphone. (Only reason I gave it 4 stars instead of 5) PROS: - Crisp, clear sound. I've been to big events with loud music and lots of other noise that would be hard to hear with a regular handheld mic, but with this setup I had to turn the volume down. to hear important information from the dispatcher about the person I'm standing next to, but they won't hear it. where, like a traditional handheld microphone, you hear everything you hear. Sturdy clips hold the microphone and speaker securely where you want them. I have recommended this product to several people in my agency and will definitely buy it again.
