Review on BTMETER Hard Travel Case Bag Protect BT-1500 Series Handheld Pyrometer by Alif Wills

Cons: The description text at the beginning of the listing says an accuracy of +/- 2%. However, there is an additional box further down the list with more detailed information, clearly marked with an asterisk. This appears to be legitimate fine print as there is no apparent dilution of the original list of fine print. The listings in the fine print give +/- 7.2 F < 32 F and +/- (2% + 3.6 F) for temperatures > 32 F. This means that at room temperature (70F) +/- 5F errors will be displayed. My experience is slightly worse (+/-8F) compared to a +/-0.7F thermal pen that has been well acclimatized to the surface in question (kitchen counter). It's also not very repetitive. Shoot the tabletop and get 60F (when Thermapen says 68F). Take it outside and shoot both hot and cold (clouds, hot grill), carry it back and shoot the counter again and get 74F. The meter did not change the temperature. What's good: It can shoot burning charcoal in a ceramic grill without exceeding the maximum limit. Hopefully this allows me to focus on pizza without a burnt crust and just use the stone on the spider web (instead of the stone and heat reflector). It also has a nice solid feel and dual aiming lasers. Instead of not-so-useful features (very dim white flashlight LEDs), the manufacturer should improve accuracy and repeatability. There are other inexpensive (smaller range) infrared thermometers that are much more accurate and repeatable. I have another such device that matches the thermal pen to the degree (simultaneously in the other hand) for the same exercise described above.
