Review on Planet Audio AC10D Voice Subwoofer by Justin Hollins

Revainrating 3 out of 5

You get what you pay for but it still sounds good

So I'll start off by saying I have a Rockford Fosgate 800a2 amp that's about $350 and a $35 -Woofer drives, and yes, it beats like a steel drum. This is not a permanent setup however, I have this woofer connected both in parallel and in series and based on the power I have received from it in series I am assuming that each coil is 1800w and there are two of them , so in series it should be able to handle at least 3600 watts peak. I have an amp with two channels of 800 watts each and bridged to get 1600 watts plus the kick frequency and my amp is still too powerful for this woofer. I have my box set at around 80Hz and with my amp tuned back it can handle the power and goes on for a long time but it doesn't hit as hard as it should. And the same day I installed it I almost screwed it up so be very careful with the setup if you have an expensive amp, if you have a cheap amp then do it, it should with that without can handle problems. And I knew beforehand that this isn't the best idea because of the amp I have because my amp has already eaten two other woofers which were also quite cheap but not cheap at $35 so I'll do another review make after I kill that woofer. probably a week or two after I posted this. Can I recommend this subwoofer, yes. But just use a cheap amp or YOU WILL KILL YOUR woofer, believe me.
