was damaged never got around to using it for its intended purpose as one of my manifold/catalyst bolts broke when removing it. I didn't want to try the other side so I just welded the stud where it snapped. Cut it off immediately after the pipe is bent over the flange. The bend made it smaller in diameter so it slid right into the old pipe. Just welded it on and it worked perfectly. I think you should just go with the flow
