I was hesitant to discuss more expensive speakers for a while when we remodeled the kitchen and added a small addition. I ended up buying these 8 inch and a few 6 inch versions. A year later I'm glad I didn't spend 2x or 3x what they did on something 'better', they are great for the money. 24 inches. They're connected to Sonos Connect and are powered by an Adcom GFA5002 50w/side that I bought from CL for $25 and paired with a very compact Cambridge Audio Minx subwoofer. You sound very good. Sometimes I feel like the highs are a bit lacking, but that may be due to the space. In general very satisfied. Again, I have a pair of 6" speakers in a smaller space with a Minx subwoofer and a NAD 3020 II. They sound great and have highs/trebles that I like. Paired with a subwoofer, the system does not let through any low frequencies. I think these Yamahas are a good deal if you're not very critical. Very easy to install. I pre-routed the cables while the walls were wide open and left the cables protruding from the drywall.
