I injured my wrist and couldn't easily use my manual can opener. Hamilton Beach saved me a lot of pain. pierce the top of the glass. You simply prick the glass and remove your hand from the "control cap". It automatically moves across the top and turns off when the can is fully open. The magnet will hold the top until you remove it. The lace/lace is detachable so you can wash it in hot water. This would be very helpful for the elderly with arthritis or any kind of stiffness. I'm glad I bought it.
