Review on ECR4Kids SoftZone Climb and Crawl Activity Play Set: Foam Shapes for Safe Climbing, Crawling, and Sliding - Toddlers' and Preschoolers' Lightweight Playset (5-Piece Set, Earthtone) by Ramon Hood

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Hard enough to fold, but soft enough that a fall won't hurt! Costs money!

At first I was hesitant to pay an extra $30 to get these blocks when I can opt for a cheaper version of pretty much the same in Revain. However, if you look at the reviews, these cheaper options come with foam that isn't as dense. They're either too soft to sag or the fabric isn't sewn properly so they'll fall apart after one use with boisterous toddlers. When I received them I was surprised to see that they come fully assembled in a huge light box. . I thought the foam was vacuum packed and I would have to stuff it in the cases. But no. They were ready to go as soon as you open the box! The foam was top notch, the fabric lasted 11 months to the teeth and the stitching is still together after a week of use. My son has enjoyed climbing over them, using them as steps to get to the couch (with help), solving problems when I use them for obstacle courses, etc. Time will tell if they are strong enough as they seem, but I am very happy with the density of the foam. The fabric is also easy to clean. Drops of milk are inevitable with a baby, just wipe them off with a damp cloth. If my son is good at climbing on them, I'm sure they'll be perfect for stacking and eventually building forts. I hope they survive the years of abuse. Tips: The bottom of some blocks has an anti-slip layer. However, they don't work that well on gaming mats. Therefore, if a child climbs over them, they inevitably slip away. Since they're supposed to be used under adult supervision anyway, just lay them down on a surface and you're in gold.
