This is a rather unique take on a cleaning product. I found it fascinating to have lightweight, pre-measured, compact laundry detergent sheets rather than heavy bottles that use a lot of plastic and add waste to the planet. They are quite simple and easy to learn. I'll mention that you use them a little differently than liquids. The back of the box says to put the laundry in the washing machine first and then add the desired amount of detergent to the laundry. This is the opposite of what I usually do with my liquid detergent because I usually add the detergent first along with the water and then start adding my clothes. I've found that I still prefer to add the sheet first and watch it dissipate as the water pours in, then add my clothes. This way the clothes have a little more time to sit in the detergent while the water fills up. In any case, I didn't notice any chips or residue. The effectiveness of these wash sheets is mediocre. You are appropriate. I have found that I need to add 2 sheets to a large load of moderately soiled laundry for them to be as effective as my liquid. That can get expensive in the long run. I also noticed that while this cleaner has a nice fresh scent when you take it out of the box, my clothes don't smell at all after washing. It's a bit of a shame because I love having a scent on my clothes that helps them smell clean and fresh. However, this can be beneficial for those who are sensitive to very delicate detergents, and I realize this is just a matter of preference. Just something to note.
