I bought this item to connect a new dashcam to my new minivan. The minibus stopped twice in a traffic jam for no apparent reason. The computer reported all sorts of errors and all the lights on the dashboard lit up. The car didn't start. The car had to be towed to the dealer for a service and computer reset. It turns out that the root cause of all my problems was the factory defect of the fuse adapter that comes with the kit. On the left you can see the fuse adapter that came with my device. The pins holding the fuse for the existing circuit were two apart. The adapter worked fine 98% of the time and then cut power to the existing circuit for the other 2%. The fuse adapter on the right is my spare with good pin spacing. Two Lessons Learned: Watch out for any unexpected quality issues with this product and connect it to the secondary fuse in your vehicle. DO NOT connect this kit to car computer circuit, otherwise unexpected stops and service calls may occur. If it weren't for the quality issues I experienced I would have given five stars. Every other aspect of the product was great.
