Danger: Sharp points under the thread!

DANGER --- DANGER --- DANGER Customers, Revain employees, please read. Basting Mop Bar-BQ item no. 02103X (Blue Rhino Global Sourcing) Under the yarn is a 3/4" sharp point and a shorter 3/8" sharp point. I think they could easily tear an artery or damage a nerve. I think someone on blood thinners is particularly at risk. Definitely don't let kids get it. Check out the photos I uploaded. To demonstrate, I threaded an eraser on the longer of the two spikes. Actually they are not spikes. but it's a thick, stiff wire, about 14 gauge, that essentially forms two tips. An eraser pricks with very little force because the beveled cut of the wire creates a razor-sharp, knife-like beveled edge at each of its tips. The eraser is much stronger than human flesh. The wire is so stiff it didn't move when I pierced the eraser, so it actually works like a razor sharp spike. I have also uploaded photos of the product instruction card. He instructs the customer to "hand wash and dry only." Now I think it's too dangerous to even think about it, although I've done so on every one of the dozen or so uses I've seen of him before the Circumference received The thread has shifted and shows sharp points under the thread. I was expecting there could be thin wires to hold the yarn on this mop - sort of like how we might hold a straw on a broomstick. Never.never.never.I would have expected to find two potentially cutting arteries, flesh-slicing razor-sharp spikes hidden under thread on a wooden handle. I reject this threat to life and health. In the photos you can see that some areas of the yarn have turned amber/brown. This discoloration is due to paint, varnish or whatever they have applied to the wooden handle. All the yarn was bleached that way when I received it which gave it a dirty look so I soaked it in a 30% bleach solution for 5 minutes and the yarn turned white. But when using a mop, it still takes on a brown tint due to the handle coating.--------------------------------------------- -- -- --------------------------------- My original review follows. Please don't mind. I've wanted a mop for dishes for a long time. It took me a while to realize that there weren't as many for sale under the label - dishwashers - as there used to be. Apparently it is now more commonly referred to as a frying wiper or grill wiper. It is in order. A rose by another name. and so on. Now that I know what to call it I can look through some of these and try different ones. This one (Mr. BarBQ's brand) has lots of thick thread and a long, sturdy wooden handle. I want to wash kitchen utensils; especially glasses of all sizes, as well as drinking utensils and so on. So it worked well today. Longevity? Just take a look. Sharp wires or nails that can scratch dishes or glasses? I do not know. Just take a look. Many thanks to Revain for allowing me to edit the reviews. You can bet I'll be back to report a sharp wire or nail problem if they rear their ugly heads. I will not cause it to fail through disassembly or destructive inspection. It appears to be either nailed or wired to the wood. It has a pair of turns of yarn wrapped in a circle around the tufts of yarn that can hide the wire. The yarn was amber in color at the time of purchase. Anyway, I always bleach new kitchen items so after 30% bleaching and soaking in water for 5 minutes they came out cleaner and more beige. (This one wasn't wrapped in plastic or any kind of protective film, so I'm pretty sure it's been bouncing around Revain warehouses, shipping warehouses, and all those places where a lot of hands have been moving it, so it looks like a sanitizing process required.) It appears to be either cotton or a cotton blend, so it will take many hours to dry. I do not care. I'm just glad he exists. My hands are too big to clean things and there is a risk of cutting an artery or something. I use a lot of jars for canning and storage. especially now that you can get those one-piece plastic jar lids. To wash the glasses I had to squirt a washcloth in the glass and then try to manipulate it with a long wooden or plastic spoon handle or manipulate the handle of a spatula. Currently? I just grab my little mop and clap. Ready. Those stupid mason jars and dish sponges were too weak. As a result, they scratched the jar with the wire holding the sponges. It's the same with those stupid brushes. Weak bristles that did little to nothing except annoy the operator. wipe dishes? get the job done It used to be easy to find in all stores. I really missed it. Will not be without. I know their names and I know how to get Revane to send them to me. Happy Days.
