Review on 🏍️ Dirt Bike Handguards - 7/8" & 1 1/8" Universal Mounting Kits for MX Motocross Supermoto Racing ATV Quad KAYO Motorcycle by Scott Rodriguez

Revainrating 3 out of 5

Difficult to install, will not fit Kawasaki KLX 230.

Good price, handguard looks good and solid. But they didn't fit my son's KLX 230. I had to bend the forearm in a vise to properly align the handlebars and disengage the clutch and brake levers. And hex bolts are junk - easily come off and get stuck in whatever position they're left in. I have 1 pair left for my KLX 300, I will pre-bend the bars and maybe buy a higher quality mounting bolt set. To update. After spending a day on the trail, my son lost one of the guards after a fall. The expansion dowel was torn out of the steering wheel. Needless to say, the brake lever was fried. When reinstalling it was found that the large spacer was too soft and unable to stay in contact with the inside of the handlebar. Jerry slipped the smaller sleeve into the larger one and seemed to pull it quite tight. Find out next time we're away. but for a set of cheap pads they definitely take a lot of elbows to fit properly.

Pros
  • High marks for support and durability from testers
Cons
  • Other interesting options available.
