Happy Anti-Theft Customer

I needed a second code key for my 2012 Ford Mustang. Unfortunately I found out the programming is a dealership as two coded keys are required to program additional keys. I called several dealers and got obscene offers - up to $140 for a key and up to $180 for cutting and programming (oops!). Instead, I decided to try this key and have a local auto mechanic program it. The locksmith charged $66 to cut and program the key. After programming he was able to start the car but unfortunately the remote control didn't work. The locksmith stated that in his opinion either the transmitter was damaged or incompatible. Somehow I thought to check the website that lists the key, which interestingly had two procedures listed, one for programming the key and the other for programming the remote. I checked the user manual again and couldn't find anything about remote programming (in fact it stated that reprogramming the key should reprogram the remote). I chose the online procedure mentioned by Keless2Go to reprogram my remote. And the problem is solved! I was able to successfully get the remote to work in addition to the key. Please note that if there are problems with the operation of the remote control, an additional procedure may be required.
