I wanted this to be way better than the no name brand tape measure I usually carry, but it also fails because it has a strong locking mechanism. While the tape measure is unfolded, shaking the case or pressing the front of the tape retracts it, even when the slide lock is fully down. If you keep this limitation in mind and don't bump into anything during the measurement, then it's enough.
