I wish this gauge included centimeters too. The measuring tool is accurate to the inch with its measurement. Thanks very much! This is a very useful product to measure things before you buy something like a laptop bag or a lockable box to hold all your meds or whatever.

This is a really great take-along tape measure. It's amazing how often it comes in handy. The only reason I rate its accuracy below 5 stars. is that after years of use, the first two inches become unreadable. But at this price you just buy another one. The lock is not absolutely necessary for a pocket tape measure, but it is good nonetheless.

I wanted this to be a lot better than the unknown brand tape measure I usually carry around, but it also doesn't do the job of having a secure locking mechanism. When the tape measure is unfolded, shaking the case or pressing on the front of the tape will retract it, even if the slide lock is fully folded down. If you keep this limitation in mind and don't bump into anything during the measurement, then it's enough.

I wanted to carry it in my pocket and use it in a furniture or hardware store etc. It is thin so it easily fits in a pocket. I accidentally pulled an inch more than I should have and the ribbon came loose from the tension spring and that was it, it broke. Otherwise it was great. I feel like the method they use to attach the mainspring to the band is too easy to loosen.

The tape measure has a small hook at the end, so you can temporarily attach it to an object and then move your hand away from the beginning to measure using only one hand. Except that the "hook" is the wrong shape, at least for me: the angle is obtuse, so it just slips off. Therefore, two hands must participate in each measurement. I don't know if everyone is like that or just me.
