These scissors impress with their Victorian handle design in copper/rose gold finish and extra wide finger holes. The blades are sharp and conveniently shaped for small parts work and trimming small threads. It's a bit bigger than our old pair of scissors; the comparison with a very old folding scissors made in germany that belonged to our grandmother is obvious. Despite being only ¾ inch longer and ½ inch wide, these scissors appear much larger than they really are. Wider finger holes make it easier for many people to use; However, we found them a bit big for us. Perhaps this is simply because so many small scissors were used in the past. The tip is very sharp (like the broken pair we are replacing) just like sewing scissors should be. Although they are sharp and easy to hold, they are not very smooth when the thread breaks. We tried lubricating and adjusting the screw, but then it didn't cut either. That's not bad, but you can tell that these are not precision scissors. However, at around $9.00 I don't see you getting any better, so I'd say it's great value for money, especially if you like the innovative scissor design.
