Review on BEAM Be Amazing - Vegan Protein Powder: Plant-Based Choco Protein Smoothie Mix with 25 Servings by Carmen Polk

Revainrating 3 out of 5

THE BEST DELICIOUS VEGAN PROTEIN I'VE TRIED BUT TOO EXPENSIVE AND TOO MUCH SODIUM!

I have tried about 30 different vegan plant based proteins over the past 5 years. In terms of taste, this protein comes first. Most taste like I'm drinking a plant or mushy peas. You still get a very slight pea flavor in this one from BEAM, but it's barely noticeable. And when I say barely noticeable, I really mean it because I drank two shots in a row, it was so delicious. Granted, 99% of my protein powders are mixed with almond milk, it makes a difference. It mixes very well without forming lumps. My issues with this protein are the price and amount of sodium per scoop. Yes, for the most part it is a healthy protein supplement. It's very low in fat and carbohydrates, no cholesterol, has a few grams of fiber, and a large dose of calcium and iron. However, one scoop accounts for 16% of your daily sodium intake. That's ridiculous! Even for someone like me who doesn't have high blood pressure but is still trying to keep track of their sodium and sugar intake, it's confusing. I imagine this would be a turn off for those trying to eat healthily in a diet restricted environment due to high blood pressure. If sodium intake is not a problem for you, you can skip this complaint. Second, the price for 25 servings is absurd. Literally over $2 a scoop after tax. That's too much even for me, who spends money on really tasty protein from time to time. If you have really deep pockets and don't care about your sodium intake, go for it. You probably won't find a tastier vegan protein. Finally, I have an issue with other reviewers, and not just with this product. I see this all the time when reviewing supplement reviews. They complain that the container is half full! That's ridiculous! Unless you died, how can you complain when you got as many servings as the label promised you? Would you like the company to make you a special double serving container and fill it to the brim because you are a special case requiring special care and attention? SMHI really can't understand why people are complaining about the supplement containers being half full when they got the number of servings they were supposed to be getting? Spoiled, justified? Is the brain dead again? Something wrong!
