This is one of the most beautiful products I have ever bought. It's ergonomically perfect. It is accurate and can be calibrated. It features a backlit display that can be turned on and stays on for 10 seconds. It turns on automatically when you open it and stays on for quite a while. It's fast! (So important) It has a HOLD function that lets you hold and view the display when it's removed from the meat or loaf of bread. It turns off when closed. It has a detachable temperature probe that can be used for continuous monitoring inside the oven. There is a magnet inside the device, which allows you to stick it to the oven or any metal device when measuring temperature. And you can set an alarm to go off when you reach your desired temperature threshold. The battery is easy to replace and Pemclen will send you a spare battery in the package. The size fits my hand well and I have big hands but a smaller sized person will have no problem. The only thing I don't know is the durability? I certainly won't mistreat a precision lab gauge, but I want it to last a VERY LONG TIME. I couldn't be happier and IT IS SIMPLY TRUE!
