I chose this device because it works with either USB Type 2.0 or USB Type C and after putting this CD/DVD drive in the Been using it for the past few weeks I think it's great value for money and we've found specific questions or concerns that we should report. As an IT professional, I can tell you that the external USB CD/DVD drives that have been produced in recent years have one thing in common. The cheapest devices tend to be compact/small form factor, depending on the laptop model, and the drive bay is usually pretty flimsy. The weakness of the drive bay is particularly noticeable when it is opened and closed, but this is manageable if the device is handled with care. However, I bought this drive for occasional use and didn't consider extreme durability when designing a CD/DVD drive that could be used several hours a day. The USB-C cable is a good length and connects to the PC's USB ports quickly and easily. Read/write speeds are very good, especially when connected via USB-C, which is to be expected. So far I haven't found anything exceptional about the design, looks, operation or ease of use of this CD/DVD player.
