My last studded tires were Gislaved NF3 13 years ago. I was very pleased with them. For at least the first 2-3 years, the road was kept perfectly, they were raked out from everywhere. Thought these would be similar. But no. (( R14. Purchased in November 2022. Used for 4 months. Unexpectedly slippery from the start. It is difficult to start without slipping on winter surfaces (well, maybe better than on previous Velcro worn almost to the indicator). In braking, they slip easily, in corners, the edge of drift / skid is felt early. But everything is smooth, everything can be easily controlled, this is a plus. Tires can jump into a rut on the track, and tend to yaw when driving on bumpy roads. In such conditions, for example, driving in an uncleaned yard close to another car or person requires extra caution. There was a lot of snow this winter, they didn’t have time to clean it, but I drove out of all the snowdrifts myself. And this property was important when buying. On snow and ice they drive fine. At speed, they require attention, because they react to bumps in the road with a slight yaw, you need to taxi. Puddles tolerate well. The spikes are still in place, but already noticeably worn off on one side. Lots of asphalt. Noisier than my previous Velcro and summer tires, but still quite quiet. You can ride, but it’s far from a “feeling of security” Release year 2022 . after the end of the first season: The bases of the spikes on all wheels were exposed quite a lot (see photo), one spike on the front wheel was lost. I fear that after next winter there will be more losses.
