I have previously purchased a clear plastic Tidy Seed No-Mess feeder for $25 and I kinda liked it. It was way better than the basic dish that came with the birdcage. 80 percent fewer shells and seeds did not fall on the ground. But the big problem was my parrot loved the Tidy Seed feeder too! He was literally addicted to it. He stayed either indoors or around for most of the day. He winced with me as my hand approached him. It had to go. I stumbled across this device and was hoping for better results. Incredibly satisfied! There is NO comparison to an open tank or a Tidy Seed Feeder. It's much better in every way. 1. Prevents 0% shells and seeds from scattering. 2. The empty pod is miraculously captured and placed in a bin just below the feeder (I can easily throw it away. The Tidy Seed Dispenser cannot process the discarded pod, so it collects in the dispenser and mixes up the leftovers with new ones seed and waste product), and 3. my bird is not addicted to it, so it has returned to its comfortable state and will only eat when it feels like it. Bonus: The 3 perches directly in front of the feeder are non-slip (unlike the Tidy Seed where my bird slipped and fell a few times). I couldn't be happier with my purchase. You will too.
