I've been waiting for the addressable LED strips (Dreamcolor) to become affordable. When I started looking, all I could find were strips priced at over $50 that still needed an extra power supply and controller. This can easily double the price. I've found that cheap kits can't be cut to length, which is important to me. This allowed me to cut a strip every 3 beads that are clearly marked. It's enough for my use and much cheaper. So when I saw this kit that included a power supply and Bluetooth controller at an affordable price, I jumped at it. The big difference between such a light strip and the older one is that old LED strips can change color, but the entire strip can only be one color at a time. It's not even possible to turn each bead on and off individually, so you can get the effect of a chaser or a chaser. This gives you a lot more control. Actually there are 3 different ways to do this. You can choose from a variety of templates by pressing the buttons on the controller itself. You can use the RF remote to do the same (note that you don't need to point the remote at the controller, which might be hidden behind something or in a closet. The third way is to download the app from Google Play. or iPhone App Store and Bluetooth connection. A note about the app is that the photos in the description make it seem like the app allows you to customize the color of each LED bead. The manual even shows this feature. I couldn't find them Somewhere in the Android app I was supposed to download, there is also no obvious way to program the presets in the app or on the remote, maybe the iPhone app can do this, but not the app that does I have on android. It doesn't violate the terms of the deal.I'll end up getting a better controller,or maybe the seller will send me one(hint hint).lku now s ind things like that, I'm happy with the kit. It's more than bright enough. The power pack does not overheat. The adhesive on the back of the tape has an adhesive strength of 3 meters. , the presets in the remote look pretty cool, plus there's an automatic mode that toggles between them. Another thing is that the manual talks about the music mode, which uses the microphone in the controller to sync the lights to the music. I couldn't figure out how to access it, but that's not what I bought it for, so I'll admit I didn't waste time looking for it.
