I like my Cuisinart Burr Grind and Brew Fully Automatic Thermal Coffee Maker, model DGB-900BC, except for one thing – the thermograph. See it drips if you don't pour it sooooo slowly you practically fall asleep. On a visit to a friend who bought exactly the same model on my recommendation, I noticed that her carafe did not drip. I thought the design of their spout was different and it made a huge difference so I went to Revain.com where I found a new replacement carafe at a great price. As usual the transaction was handled professionally and the item arrived on time but it was the same item I wanted to upgrade so I returned it. Here's where Revain shines: I received a quick, no-hassle refund for the full amount including shipping. You can not ask for more. After some more research I found a new article and was able to upgrade my coffee maker with an upgraded carafe, but if you're looking, here's what you need to know: The Cuisinart DGB-900BC and DCC-2400 12-Cup Thermographs are there in two versions: 1) Decanter "Dribble" - Art. DCC-2400RC and 2) Decanter "Happy Java" - Art. #DCC-2400CRF. For a really good cup of coffee, I recommend the latter. The rubber gasket around the stem under the lid assembly that provides a seal between the decanter and lid can bind and cause leaks. By applying a thin layer of vegetable oil to this gasket and thereby reducing the resistance (I put a drop of olive oil on my index finger) you will find that the lid closes more smoothly and the leak goes away. I haven't experienced a single drop since discovering this remedy, and occasional relubrication when resistance returns will maintain a snug fit. I still prefer the newer decanter design because it pours faster, but the dripping isn't a feature of the earlier design, more like a seizure of the gasket that surrounds the lid.

Pros
  • There's something in there
Cons
  • Minor issues
