I like pens. There is a wide variety of colors and they do not appear in my journal or Bible study book. (I haven't tried them in my Bible yet, but I don't see a problem with them). They don't smear either. If this purchase was ONLY for the grips I would give it 5 stars. However, since the "gel highlighters" were included, I had to deduct a few stars! Now we come to my review of "highlighters". I hate them. They are not highlighters. These are pencils. And they are striped. Sometimes the chalk comes off in small pieces and when you wipe it off it smudges a bit. I prefer to use an actual highlighter and I have a bit of transparency in my bible instead of using it there. These are just very expensive crayons that I will most likely be giving to my kids who will use them up quickly as they seem to wear out easily! chalk stripes.
