I bought this product to easily use my Surface Pro in portrait or landscape mode with the keyboard detached. The attached photo shows my layout; SP6 in portrait mode with keyboard detached and SP3 with Microsoft keyboard attached in landscape mode. I've had the best success using Fn + Ins to disable the trackpad and use a Bluetooth mouse, Surface stylus, or touchscreen directly. The biggest problem is that the trackpad sometimes activates itself. Many times I've edited an email or a document only to move the cursor to a different area because I touched a trackpad that should be inactive. As you can see, the function key layout is slightly different from the Microsoft keyboard. on the photo. The F4 key is located above the 3 and 4 keys on this keyboard, but it is located above the 4 and 5 keys on the Microsoft keyboard. The keyboard has good action and great battery life. Verdict: Best aftermarket SP keyboard, but plenty of room for improvement.
