I am responsible for the kitchen in my house (mainly because I am retired and everyone else is working). I have a 1 gallon plastic bin in the kitchen that holds leftovers, greens, meat trimmings, etc. I've used flimsy plastic vegetable grocery bags, but they leak and ripped because they weren't designed for the task. .
