I'm glad I ignored the feedback about how difficult it would be to remove links from the group to make it smaller. I have a smaller wrist and had to have a few links removed. I have always had to take the watch to a jewelry store to have the links removed as the pin extractor has never come with any watch or bracelet purchases I have made before. The process was easy - all you had to do was follow the directional arrows, line up the parts, and turn the screw. I've found it helpful to use pliers to remove the pin one last time and also push the pin back into place. Leaving the protective tape over the strap helped hold the pieces in place while I adjusted. It also helped to figure out how the strap would fit on my wrist as I had to remove more links from one side than the other to get the clasp to sit in the right place on my wrist. The material and mechanics of the bracelet appear to be excellent. I hope the band's demise holds up (some reviews have suggested this was a problem).
