Not for me: Graters, peelers and slicers

I'll say right away that this thing scares me. I was hoping this would change my mind about my fear of being cut while chopping onions. I'm not a big "gadget" person. Trying to use this has made me more confident than ever that I'm not a good candidate for certain gear. SO my experience may not be the same as yours if you are more skilled with kitchen appliances. However, what I have found for me are the protrusions in the needle that are designed to pierce and hold the fruit or veg you want to slice or dice. etc. in place - didn't really hold onto the onion I was trying to chop. As far as I know, that stylus (which I'm sure has a real name) is the most important element in this device. After all, that pen is a buffer between your knuckles and a really sharp blade. I've had very little success with cutting. I've tried aggressive movements, slower movements, I've tried adjusting the thickness, I've rotated the lightbulb. All in vain. It was a mess, and the damn lightbulb kept slipping out of the fuse on that useless pin. There might be a trick for that. I gave up and went back to my cutting board and knives, which also scares me.
