This is the entry way mat to my apartment that is near the beach. To say that it traps all dirt, debris, moisture, sand, and other things, is patently false. At best, it collects some of the larger bits of outdoor dirt and junk, but overall it's just okay. The backing did peel off well and it stays put; I'm not sure about how it will do in the washing machine since the backing is made of sticky plastic like material. There are likely better indoor mats available that do a better job of trapping debris, and washing, than this one.
