I bought this to keep the battery charged/supported in my SUV. I don't drive this car very often and the battery tends to drain. I don't want to run wires from the outlet to the car so I figured a dash mounted solar charger would be a good option. I used a multimeter and found that this unit actually delivers its advertised performance. The quick connect clips are handy and come with either a cigarette lighter or battery clip. The first thing I tried was the cigarette lighter. Because my car doesn't have an outlet that connects directly to the battery (the power shuts off when the key is removed), there is no power in the opposite direction back to the battery. So I had to connect it directly to the battery. It worked by sending electricity to the battery. Except that at night or on cloudy days, this device would suck the power out of my battery and actually drain it faster. I would recommend any controller.
