Review on CIPA πŸ” 11170 UTV Mirror by Mark Gancio

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Seems to be strong. decent value.

There are many mirrors for UTVs, but I chose this one because CIPA generally has good reviews and it sounds solid. When I received it I was pleased that it appeared to have a solid metal bracket and articulated metal arm. The mirror itself and lens are acrylic plastic, but that's ok. The convex mirror lets you really see everything behind you and far to both sides, it's not like a car where the roof is in the way. The bracket gives you a lot of flexibility in positioning. In my case with the Kawasaki Teryx, the car's top beam didn't slide far enough forward, so I adjusted the clamp mount and arm to keep the mirror as far forward as possible. The only problem I had was during installation, but I really expected that. Once you open the clip enough to slide it onto the stem, it becomes difficult to line up the holes. I had to file the top of a hole a bit more to get the holes aligned and the screw to get through. It was too loose to fit my 1.70" diameter handlebars (the top horizontal tubes are slightly smaller than the rest of the vertical bars). to not scratch my paint and also to hold it in place so it doesn't rotate. Haven't used it at the track yet, I'll try it tomorrow and try to report back. It's still really too far back for the Teryx, but that's how the Teryx's horizontal roll cage is positioned, not the mirror's fault. In fact, the mirror's long brackets helped move it forward. I actually moved the mount forward as much as possible. Also in the picture there is a small bit above the mirror that looks white, it's actually just a camera flash and all black. Looks nice.
