Bought for a relative, installed in his house. We send it back and don't even think about replacing it. Here's why: 1. This doesn't work. While the base station seems to do some nice touches when it appears to be working, calling your phone numbers assigned during testing, the built-in sensors can't register more than 5 to 6 feet from the base station. This is poorly documented. Literally in the very first minute of installation, I kind of sounded an alarm and didn't realize that there was a switch/button under the main unit's battery cover that basically causes a "system panic" when you remove the battery cover. You should have a desiccant to gently put the cap on, make sure it's snug and secure, then turn the device over and enter the standard deactivation codes while being careful not to tear your pants through it terribly loud noise this alarm makes. .3. Door/window sensors are totally unforgiving of mold on doors and/or windows. It is difficult to mount sensors and associated magnets so that they are sufficiently flush with the sensor.4. Motion detection isn't that good and we found it barely worked on the base unit, even at 2 feet away. This is true although the battery has been replaced to ensure that it is only an issue with the old/pre-supplied battery. It would be ridiculous and funny if the manufacturer did not show such negligence. The only thing it has is the ability to call pre-assigned phone numbers and play a pre-recorded "System Panic" message over and over again after you say hello -- with no monthly fee. But don't try to think of a possible case where you really need the system to work - let's say a burglar or other criminal breaks into your home - and the system/alarm goes completely inoperative. It is almost unforgivable on the part of the manufacturer that they failed the quality test for absolute performance. I bought the system to prevent thieves from robbing my relative. Instead, I feel like we've all been ripped off.
