I used these brackets on the back of an IKEA cabinet as the LED strips I bought had questionable adhesion. Although the adhesive on the strips came loose after just a few days, these brackets still keep my LED strips lying perfectly flat, both horizontally and vertically. I drilled a pilot hole for each screw and then attached the brackets to the LED strip already installed, although I found it quite easy to detach and reattach the LED strips with the brackets still in place. You can just gently lift the top of the bracket and pull out the LED strip.
