Review on Apertium by Steven Thelin

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Apertium is a free online translator that lets you translate text between different languages.

What I like about Apertium is that they are working hard to make it better and adding new languages. For example, they added Portuguese, Catalan, and Czech. And they are doing so while keeping it free/open source. The only thing that I would suggest is to get some professional writers to write some of the articles that they use to translate. I love the app. It is perfect for people who want to practice translating a word into another language. However, it does take a lot of effort to translate something because you have to type out every single word of the sentence. It's pretty fun to see how the translations look when you type them out yourself. The most important thing about Apertium is that it allows you to translate without having to register an account or install any apps. This makes it great for beginners who are learning a foreign language. Another great feature of Apertium is that it supports many file formats such as PDFs, images, etc. When I try to translate something, it saves it in my documents folder.

Pros
  • This is a very powerful software that provides you with a quick way to translate text from one language to another
  • It has over 30 supported languages at the moment
Cons
  • Can be a little slow to use depending on what files you're trying to translate.
  • No user reviews available
