Getting work done - Blank media

I have been using these Memorex music CDs for a number of years now. There is a difference between regular CD-Rs and music CD-Rs. Regular CD-R discs are versatile CD-R discs that allow you to back up both data and music files. In contrast, music CD-Rs, while versatile, are specifically designed for recording music. The music recorded on it is cleaner and more powerful than on a conventional CD-R. I played in a rock band in the mid 80's and transcribed six of our albums from cassettes to CDs using these music CD-Rs. There is a noticeable difference in sound quality when compared to recording music on regular CD-Rs. Note: CD-Rs are not rewritable CDs. Once a CD has been finalized, it can no longer be erased. If you want CDs that can be erased and rewritten, buy CD-RW (rewritable). This pack of 10 CDs comes in a variety of colors - Gold, Red, Purple, Blue and Black. The label side and the playing surface of CD-Rs have the same color. I like black best. You look very cool. These CD-Rs can store up to 80 minutes of music (typically 79:43) and have 700MB of storage space. You can have a great day burning MP3 discs and burning a few hundred songs onto a CD depending on how many kbps you use. Typical CD quality is 128 kbps. For example, if you record at 192kbps, you won't be able to record as many songs because this setting takes up more space, but the sound quality will be better. The sound quality is even better - 256 kbps, but again fewer songs fit into it. You will decide. You can even lower the quality to CD, say 96 kbps. To do all this you need a CD burning system like Roxio, MusicMatch or WinAmp or something like that. All in all this is a good product. CD playing surfaces are not easily scratched. Of course, how well you take care of your CDs plays a big role. Everyone knows someone who doesn't care about their CDs and/or DVDs. You know - you look at the playing surface and it looks like a person rubbed the surface with sandpaper. Then the person wonders why CDs and DVDs are skipped. Yes! Common sense should tell a person that any scratches will cause the rims to slip. Scratches that are 100% preventable. Anyway, I think you'll love these CD-Rs. I recommend them.
