Review on Thirsty Rhino Badak Brushed Silver Bottle Opener and Pour Spout Remover Set - Pack of 2 by Rhonda Welch

Great bartender! THICK, durable metal

I'm a bartender and I use this thing all the time. I bend the tip about 20 degrees at the hole where the cap goes in when you pry it off. This kink gives you a more favorable angle to get better leverage to pry the cap and requires a shallower angle to hook the cap, meaning you won't "miss" as often. However this opener works great without modification, I strongly believe a slight kink in the pry tool section would improve functionality. You have to be careful not to bend the tip too much as this will twist the bottle and actually cause the glass to break instead of tearing off the cap. This happens when you bend the tool enough that the lever mechanism catches on the glass rather than the metal cap of the bottle. I've seen this a few times, only with a bar stool that I bent too far. It turns out that 30-45 degrees is too much bending. The cap is very easy to hook on and off, but it also becomes very easy to break the neck of the bottle inside the cap, and as a bartender, you can't hand someone a beer bottle with jagged broken glass on top. If you bend your bar tool, take my advice and don't overdo it. A spout remover is a must have for any good bar tool. This design is the one.
