Top of the list is that they need THREE AA batteries, which is what I bought. However, it turns out that they require 4 AAA batteries. I also didn't get the color choice I made. I went for a set of 4 different colors and got two pink and two teal. I can't tell you if they work because I bought the wrong batteries.
