I live in an area with very low humidity - typically below 10%. When I pulled it off the next morning, not only were my bangs completely straight, but my hair was uncontrollably static until I washed it the next day. tighten with a buckle. You have to move the cap so that the buckle is in a convenient place. Personally, I had to untie the rubber band almost to the end because my head started to hurt after a while.
