I bought this set because I just started making junk magazines. This gives you a variety of needle sizes for everything from small magazine brochures to thick chipboard covers. And there are many threads that come in different colors. It's also a good starting point for understanding what you need to create a journal. And then get yourself a bone folder! You couldn't get a better deal! The only thing you need to get more is the thread. needles only, an awl, a starting thread (and there are plenty of those), and a folder of bones are more than enough. I've made 8 magazines and 5 pamphlet magazines and I haven't run out of thread! I highly recommend this set.
