Review on Portable recorder Olympus LS-P1 silver by Janis Cerins ᠌

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Not a bad buy, well worth the money.

I needed it so that I could record my own commentary to play over the video, so that's why I got it. It serves its purpose admirably. It's too slow and lacks intuitive control to be a reliable companion for jotting down ideas, whether for a book or a diary.

Pros
  • Easy to carry and store Activation time is rather short The year 2022 has its own language option (but English turned out to be more convenient and understandable for me) Sound editing software with a valid license is provided (serial) The audio (one peak recording, two peaks pause) allows operation even when looking away from the screen. Microphone of Exceptional Sensitivity Simple USB hookup Although a genuine NIMH battery is included, any AA alkaline battery will work by switching to the appropriate mode in the device's settings.
Cons
  • You can't adjust the intensity of the backlight, only its duration; since it's so intense, it'll be a distraction if you try to record your ideas by pausing the device at regular intervals. The first time you touch the record button, it will always be paused; in order to begin recording, you will need to push the button again. Even in strong light, without backlighting, the screen is nearly unreadable without transflector technology; therefore, I would like to disable or significantly minimize its use. Since 2022, the firmware has not been updated, so there will be no fixes.
