The coffee function of this machine works well. But in my experience, all machines in this segment brew good coffee. The manual milk hose works well too, although it's activated via a button rather than a valve with a handle in the menu. The button is what you have to fiddle with to turn it off. The milk stick doesn't have the Gaggia Panarello stick either. But it works fine. However, at this price point, you're paying for a one-touch feature. If you just want manual mode, there are plenty of sub-$1,000 machines that will do the job. The one-touch function is handy, the milk froth is great, but there are also downsides: Many reviewers note that the milk is not hot enough. Is that so. I measured, the milk comes out at around 130 degrees, depending on the setting. When coffee is added, the temperature rises, but when brewed in a room temperature cup, the temperature of the finished drink drops to 125 degrees in less than a minute. However, it is still acceptable. It's similar to the latte you get at a restaurant, which is often cool but acceptable. It brews just a shot of espresso into latte or cappuccino with one touch. You can double the time, but it won't cook two shots. However, you can easily add a portion. My biggest problem is that the machine spits water into the cup at the beginning and end of the milk cycle. About a tablespoon. A small latte makes a watery drink.
