Review on Sony FE 55mm F1.8 Sonnar T ZA Full Frame Prime Lens (Fixed) by Ta Wan ᠌

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Great value for the money, definitely recommended!

the lens is certainly good, but I sold it and bought sel 35f28, why? because I am an amateur, not a professional, that is, I do not make a living from photography and cannot afford to have several expensive fixes for different occasions. I needed a wider field of view for landscape and video shooting, so I sold it. At focal lengths less than 35 mm, the picture turns out to be "distorted" unnatural (you can throw slippers at me for this, but this is my subjective opinion), so I stopped at 35 mm. The same 55mm lens, mostly a portrait lens, is very good for these purposes, there are no complaints about it.

Pros
  • very clear, draws beautifully, autofocuses well (only used A7 cameras)
Cons
  • not very convenient for shooting video: manual focus is not convenient, the angle is small, there is no stabilization.
