They're pretty soft - not SUPER soft - still some spiky polyester but overall great and tagless - hooray! My 12 year old loves them and doesn't seem to even notice the fact that the front is sewn shut (to each their own I guess) but it's worth mentioning. Size medium and large. Since he has a small butt - no hips, and he's skinny as a railing, I bought medium ones, as I usually do in boxers. After a few washes he said they "run him over". I then ordered a size up and they are a little big for him. I think more is better.
