Didn't last long in presser feet

This is my second pile foot. The first one I bought was half the price of this one but only lasted a few hours before breaking. I figured since it's a generic brand I'd order it for Singer. Guess it looks the same as the first one and lasted about the same. And yes, it was made in Hong Kong, like the first one. So don't pay twice as much as you should. The idea behind this gadget is great and cuts sewing time down to a fraction of what it would otherwise be. But if they don't last, what's the point? My mother had one of these fifty years ago that came with her all metal parts from a Singer car. Nothing has ever gone wrong with this machine and/or attachment. Why aren't they doing things the way they used to? Well, that's life.
